Peak Fitness
Patrick Curley Peak Fitness is located in Gorey, north Co.Wexford, and is more than your average gym.
Peak Fitness offers a community of inspiring individuals a space to gather as a group and encourage each other to push their boundaries in whatever aspect of fitness they desire.
While they offer gym-based sessions focused on strength, cardio, hyrox and boxing, they also offer individually-tailored programs for marathon prep and mountain running. Group-based programs are also available, focusing on trail running, photoshoot prep, beginners’ running, sea swims, and hiking adventures, to name a few! Full nutritional guidance is also available.
All of these programs have lead to lots of clients successfully completing many challenges and trips within Ireland and beyond.
In Ireland, Peak Fitness community members have completed: Malin Head to Mizen Head, The 4 Peaks Challenge, The 26 Peaks Challenge, The Mourne Wall, The Wicklow Way, numerous guided hikes up Carrauntoohil and around the Reeks area in Kerry, as well as many weekend hikes in and around their local mountains in Wexford and Wicklow.
Over the past 2 years, the overseas trips have expanded to include an incredible trip to Everest Base Camp with Earth’s Edge in 2023, and an amazing trip to the Arctic Circle in early 2025. They are so excited for what’s to come over the next 5 years, the first of these being this Kang Yatse II expedition in India at the start of June 2026.
Trekking Kang Yatse II
Earth’s Edge are the only company in the world who have an expedition leader and doctor on all Kang Yatse II (6,250m) expeditions. As well as this, we keep our group sizes sustainably small. Established in 2007, we offer high-altitude trekking and mountaineering in some of the most breathtaking locations around the world.
This 13-day expedition is suitable for experienced trekkers, or those who have a good level of fitness. Towering at an impressive 6,250m, Kang Yatse II is a serious challenge. Furthermore, it is the highest trekking peak in the Indian Himalayas.
Our route to the mountain is along the stunning Markha valley. As we trek, we pass through traditional villages and enjoy stunning mountain views. Ascending the valley is gradual, which is perfect for acclimatisation and improves our chances of a successful summit attempt.
The 16-hour summit day is the crux of the itinerary. We spend most of the day on snow, which requires the use of ropes. The view from the top is one of the best in the Himalayas! As well as this, the trek offers great views of the Zanskar and Karakoram ranges, including K2 (8,611m), the second-tallest mountain in the world.
This is one of the best trekking peaks in the Indian Himalayas, with its proximity to Leh making it very accessible. In addition, visits to monasteries, palaces, markets, and remote villages are all included along the trail.
