In April, James McManus will be travelling to Nepal to climb Mount Everest. His goal? To be the first Irish person to reach the summit of the world’s tallest mountain, without using supplementary oxygen.

Key Points
James will be available for interview before, during and after his expedition. He will have a satellite phone and will be available for phone interviews on the ground, and will also have imagery and video footage available for use.
Key Dates
- April 7th: James arrives in Nepal
- April 11th: James crosses the border into Tibet
- Remainder of April & first half of May: James will be completing a series of training and acclimatisation rotations on Everest in preparation for the summit push.
- May 20th-28th: Summit attempt, dependent on conditions
- June 1st: James returns to Dublin
