James will be available for interview before, during and after his expedition. He will have a satellite phone and will be available for phone interviews on the ground, and will also have imagery and video footage available for use.
If successful, James will be the first Irish person to reach the summit of Mount Everest without supplementary oxygen.
Less than 4% of people who reach the summit of Everest do so without oxygen.
6,098 people have summited Everest, but only 216 have reached the summit without the use of supplementary oxygen*.
