Annapurna Base Camp with Earth's Edge 1

Guide Exchange Programme 2016

To recognise the great work of all our local guides throughout the world, we have launched a guide exchange programme and we need your help in selecting the winning guide.

At Earth’s Edge we send an Irish guide and doctor on all expeditions in order to deliver an unrivalled standard of safety and service. They are assisted by local guides and support staff of the highest standard. Regardless of where we are working, be it climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking to Everest Base Camp or scaling Elbrus we are very much dependent on our local guides. They know the routes, local weather patterns and other snippets of information picked up through a lifetime of work in a given area.  All of our local guides are so passionate about the mountains and work extremely hard.

In 2016 we are sending one of our local guides on an all expenses paid expedition to a country of their choice. The aims of the programme are to share knowledge and best practice among our local teams. We also want to say thanks for all the great work they do for us.

Trekking in Nepal

We have received a huge amount of applications since we launched the programme on March 9th. We have short-listed the applications to four people and we need your help in selecting a winner.

The finalists are;

Shanta Nepali from Nepal who works on our Everest Base Camp treks.

Jitender Singh Rana (Jetu) from India who works on our Stok Kangri climbs.

Mohamed Toudaoui from Morocco, who works on our Toubkal treks.

Hebron Mwanadila from Tanzania, who works on our Kilimanjaro climbs.

Here is a video profile of all the short-listed guides.

To vote for your favorite guide please visit our Facebook page and comment Shanta, Jetu, Mohamed or Hebron under the video on our Facebook page. The guide with the most votes by May 1st will win the competition.
