Business in the Community Ireland are Ireland’s only dedicated network for responsible business. Founded in 2000, they are a national non-profit organisation whose vision is quite simple. It is to have all businesses in Ireland responsible and sustainable. Their patron is Michael D.Higgins, President of Ireland. To learn more about BITC click here.
We really enjoyed the process of working with BITC to produce this report and are very pleased with the outcome. Below are some highlights from the report.
- Community: We set up a new volunteer programme for our staff in Dublin and engaged with Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (www.kiliporters.org) in Tanzania.
- Environment: We offset carbon for all staff travel and switched to environmentally friendly cleaning products in our office in Dublin.
- Workplace: We committed to zero overtime hours and provided flexible working hours so our team can enjoy life outside of work.
- Marketplace: We are committed to all those that work for us. In 2015 we signed up for Prompt Payment (www.promptpayment.ie) and we continue to focus improving the working conditions for support teams in all the countries we work in.
